Getting to Know You: Team Lead & Associate Finance Director, Elizabeth Stasiowski
With over a decade at Insource, Elizabeth Stasiowski has grown alongside the company, taking on new challenges, mentoring her team, and helping clients achieve their goals. As Team Lead and Associate Finance Director, she manages a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients and leads a dedicated finance team – all while playing an active role in business development, training, and Insource’s internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee.
From Client to Team Lead
Elizabeth’s Insource journey began on the other side of the table, as a client.
Before joining the company, she worked as the Director of Finance at a charter school management organization that partnered with Insource for its accounting and finance functions.
“I had the unique experience of seeing Insource from both sides,” Elizabeth explains. “As a client, I loved the consultants we worked with and admired the company’s culture. It was an easy decision to join the team.”
That integrated approach, where consultants truly feel like part of the client’s organization, is something Elizabeth values deeply.
Growing with Insource
When Elizabeth started, Insource was a tight-knit team of 45 people. Today, the company has grown to over 175 employees, but one thing has remained constant: the leadership team’s commitment to culture and values.
“Even now, every candidate who receives an offer still meets with Bruce [Insource’s President] and one of the VPs. It’s such a personal touch and speaks volumes about the kind of company we are.”
Making an Impact
Elizabeth leads one half of Insource’s finance practice, managing a team of consultants and serving as the primary engagement owner for several clients. Many of these clients are nonprofits – a perfect fit for Elizabeth, whose background includes a Master’s in Social Work and years of experience in the nonprofit sector.
“Supporting mission-driven organizations is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Whether they’re working in education, healthcare, animal rescue, or the environment, our job is to handle the back-office functions so they can focus on the incredible work they do in the world.”
Holding Onto Culture Through Change
With rapid growth and a shift to remote work during the pandemic, maintaining Insource’s culture was a top priority – and a shared success.
“I was worried we’d lose that close-knit culture when we went remote,” Elizabeth admits. “But instead, I think it’s been strengthened. Leadership has been intentional about living our values every day. We start every meeting with what we call an ‘ethos moment,’ which keeps our principles front and center.”
Opportunities to Lead, Teach, and Learn
Beyond her client work, Elizabeth relishes the variety of opportunities Insource offers:
● A seat at the leadership table, where decisions are made collaboratively
● Designing and delivering webinars and conference presentations
● Contributing to business development and training initiatives
● Co-chairing the internal DEI committee to foster inclusivity
“I’m an extrovert, so I love being out in the community and sharing knowledge. It’s rewarding to contribute in so many different ways.”
A 360° Support System
Elizabeth credits much of her success to the supportive culture within Insource.
“The executive team is always there to help us work through challenges. My colleagues across practices are fantastic, and my own team is incredible. We have a concept called ‘managing up’, so they support me almost as much as I support them. It really is a 360-degree structure.”
Life Outside Insource
When she’s not working, Elizabeth devotes most of her time to her two daughters, who are nearly 8 and 12. Between competitive dance and soccer, life is busy, but she still carves out time for her passions: reading, gardening, and ambitious DIY projects.
“I always need a creative project on the go – it balances out the finance side of my brain.”
“The Right Fit… Without a Doubt”
After more than 10 years, Elizabeth’s commitment to Insource hasn’t wavered.
“When I started, I had no idea I’d still be here a decade later. And I can’t imagine leaving. I get to do work I love, with people I respect, for clients making a real difference. It’s an incredible place to be.”
