Meet the Team: IT Manager, Danny Burke

From Support Consultant to IT Manager—growing with purpose at Insource

In our Meet the Team series, we get to know the people who make Insource what it is. Today, we’re catching up with Danny Burke, IT Manager, who joined Insource in 2019 and has since grown through the ranks — without ever losing sight of what matters most: people.

How did you find Insource?
It was early 2019, and I was looking for a new IT role on LinkedIn when I came across Insource. Something about the opportunity felt right from the start.

How was the interview process?
Honestly? It was the smoothest interview process I’ve ever had. I reached out and got a call the very next day. Within a week, I had my interview—and the day after that, an offer.
I had calls with HR and one of the former IT directors beforehand, and on interview day, I met with our VP’s Saleha, Russell (and both IT directors), and Insource’s People Officer DaQuall. Everyone was kind, genuine, and supportive throughout. It felt like more than a job process—it felt like a team welcoming you in.

What were your main goals going in?
I wanted to broaden my knowledge in all things IT and be compensated fairly for the value I brought. I was looking to deepen my understanding of a wide range of tools—like the Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, managing devices, security, and cloud infrastructure. I didn’t just want to stay in my comfort zone; I wanted to grow.

What was your biggest challenge?
The hardest part was embracing change: going from supporting just one business to managing the needs of several, each with different priorities. My focus was—and still is—ensuring every client feels heard and supported, no matter their size.

What’s your day-to-day like?
I manage both clients and a few members of our support team. Each day starts with ticket checks, making sure the team is responding to clients promptly and effectively. I support team members on their own Insource journeys—coaching them, checking in, and making sure they have what they need to succeed.

I also have regular meetings with client contacts and leadership teams to hear their challenges and recommend solutions. Every day’s different, but the goal is always the same: deliver value and make people’s lives easier.

What opportunities are available to you?
Growth has been the biggest one. I started as a support consultant and have been promoted twice—now I’m an IT Manager. Insource offers flexibility but also trusts us to take on responsibility. I’ve had chances to lead projects and explore unfamiliar territory, always knowing that experienced teammates are ready to support and guide me when needed.
________________________________________
What is the support like?
Unmatched. There’s a real culture of sharing knowledge and lifting each other up. I’ve never felt embarrassed to ask a question—even the ones that seem basic—because I know someone will take the time to walk me through it.

At other places, help could feel begrudging. At Insource, it’s the opposite. My IT director and other leaders have had my back from the start. That kind of support builds confidence and helps me do the same for others.
________________________________________
What are you most proud of?
The way we treat our clients—every single one. Whether they’re a large for-profit with hundreds of employees or a small nonprofit with a team of ten, the respect and care we offer never changes.
That’s built into the DNA of Insource: every person matters and every client matters.

What do you do for fun?
I’m a big family guy. I love hanging out with my wife and three kids, going on little adventures, and trying new mom-and-pop coffee shops. My family and I watch random funny YouTube videos together, and laugh uncontrollably.
I also love sports, especially basketball and football. Especially seeing my kids rooting for the same teams I do, even if they don’t understand the game.

Was Insource the right fit for you?
Absolutely.

One of our core ethos statements is: “We believe needs—not technology—drive solutions.” I really believe in that. We listen to what our clients need and match the right technology to them—not the other way around. That’s what makes us different from many MSPs out there.
