Getting to Know You: Finance and Accounting Manager, Joel Nachmann

Since joining Insource in 2016, Joel Nachmann has built a rewarding career in the Finance and Accounting team, where he’s a Finance and Accounting Manager. Joel’s journey with Insource is one of steady growth, professional achievement, and genuine fulfilment in the work he does.

From Staff Accountant to Manager
Joel first discovered Insource through a job board almost a decade ago and was drawn in by the company’s collaborative and purpose-driven environment. Starting out as a Staff Accountant, he handled the day-to-day essentials of accounts payable and receivable before progressing through the ranks to Senior Accountant, and later Finance and Accounting Manager.

“I’ve been really fortunate to grow within the company,” he says. “My goal was always to stay long-term and progress….. and Insource made that possible.”

Along the way, Joel also achieved a personal milestone: completing his MBA while working full-time. “That was probably my biggest challenge,” he admits. “Balancing work and studies was intense, but it was absolutely worth it in the end.” He credits Insource for supporting him both financially and professionally during that journey.

Variety, Challenge, and Growth
When it comes to describing his day-to-day role, Joel laughs: “There’s no such thing as a typical day.” Each morning brings something new: client meetings, team collaboration, and opportunities to tackle fresh challenges.

“Some days are more hands-on, others are more about leadership,” he explains. “That variety is one of the things I enjoy most. I get to work with clients across different industries, which keeps me learning and engaged.”

This diversity has been key to Joel’s growth. “Insource gives you the chance to work with a wide range of clients, from nonprofits to professional services,” he says. “That exposure helps you keep developing your skills and understanding how different organizations operate.”

Support and Collaboration
One of the things Joel values most about Insource is the culture of support and mentorship.
“If I ever have a question or hit a challenge with a client, there’s always someone willing to help, whether it’s my own team or another department,” he says. “We also meet regularly with our managers, who provide mentorship and guidance on how to manage different types of clients. It’s a very collaborative place.”

Making a Difference
For Joel, one of the most rewarding aspects of his work is knowing that his efforts contribute to something bigger.

“I’m proud to help organizations achieve their goals,” he says. “I get to support multiple nonprofits in reaching their missions, which feels incredibly meaningful. It’s more than just accounting. It’s helping people make an impact.”

Life Outside Work
When he’s not working, Joel’s energy goes into his two dogs, home projects, and a growing list of hobbies. “I’ve been doing a lot of puppy training, house projects, and gardening,” he says. “I also love cooking and baking bread. It’s a great way to unwind.”

Between a thriving career, a new home, and life with his dogs, Joel’s days are full – but that’s just how he likes it.

“Insource really is the right fit for me,” he says. “It keeps me engaged and busy in a positive way. There’s always something to do, and that’s what keeps it exciting.”
